In adult Sprague-Dawley rats inoc sc with the I.R.E reticulum cell
sarcoma, the mean latent period was 11.4 days and the mean survival time
was 29.9 days. In rats treated with ellagic acid (1 or 2 ml/100 g every 2
days, sc at the site of tumor inoc), from the time of tumor inoc until
death, the mean latent periods were 8.8 and 7.5 days, resp, and mean
survival times were 26.7 and 24.8 days, resp. No significant differences
in tumor histology were seen between the treated and control groups. |
